Where am I writing from?
I am in the North West of England, a few minutes walk from the beach and a few minutes (well, ok, maybe 20) drive from the fells.
I’ve lived in this current house since Summer 2016. It wasn’t a long move, just a few miles. We had lived in our last, tiny, house since before our children were born and both were brought up there. I am glad both had some time to enjoy the space here before leaving home. After several years we have made changes to the house and garden, with some still planned. We are trying to make the garden welcoming to wildlife and love watching the birds that visit us.
I’m writing with my MacBook on my lap or iPad in my hands, opposite the French doors in the room I call the library because it has most of our books in it. My daughter calls it the garden room as it opens onto the decking and back garden. Whichever, it has books and a wonderful view of the birdfeeder, what could be better? At other times I will be writing from my desk in my ‘mad woman’s attic’ (Q – Does every respectable attic need a mad woman? I think so.) which is my space for studying and crafting and is full of all sorts of things that inspire me.
